REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Deputy Principal, BPP University College of Professional Studies Limited

JOB PURPOSE:

As Programme Leader for the Pathway Programmes you will be responsible for the validation, design, development and delivery of these programmes, the overall management and recruitment of teaching staff and liaison with all key departments as well as supporting the strategic and operational development of the programmes within BPP University College.

PRINCIPAL JOB ELEMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Product Landscape

Become an external/internal advocate for the pathway programmes in the context of marketing, conferences, PR and business development Liaise with relevant institutes/professional bodies, where necessary Manage the academic content and pedagogy of modules and programmes

Quality

Undertake quality monitoring and continuous improvement activity in line with BPP's General Academic Regulations and policies Set up and analyse quality indicators for programme quality/student performance and monitor and act upon them where necessary

People Management

Manage a team of subject matter experts, module leaders, lecturers and associate lecturers to ensure the successful design, deployment and delivery of the programmes

Teaching & Student Support

Undertake a teaching and design load appropriate to the level of responsibility of the role Liaise with the careers team to develop potential opportunities for student development

Validation and Development

Take the lead on future validations of new pathway programmes and modules to be offered by BPP and the associated documentation and ensure that the following programmes are progressed for delivery from September 2011: International Foundation Certificate in Business Studies (Level 3 - 120 credits - pre-undergraduate programme) International Foundation Certificate in Legal Studies (Level 3 - 120 credits - pre-undergraduate programme) International Pre-Masters Diploma in Business (Level 6 - 120 credits - pre-masters) International Pre-Masters Diploma in Law (Level 6 - 120 credits - pre-masters) BPP Pathway to HE Award (Business Studies) (for home students) (Level 3 - 60 credits) BPP Pathway to HE Award (Legal Studies) (for home students) (Level 3 - 60 credits) Pre-sessional English - pathway programme for undergraduate and postgraduate studies (non-credit bearing language programme).

General

Identify synergies throughout the Business School, Law School and BPP Learning Media Involvement in recruitment and selection of teaching staff Undertake other duties commensurate with the level of this role.

Skills, knowledge, qualifications required for job

Enthusiastic, commercially and educationally focused with leadership and coaching skills Expertise in teaching and designing modules and programmes Strong knowledge and understanding of pathway programmes
